Today I taught the Instructional Partner unit to the fifth grade class that is was designed for. I introduced the unit to them and explained the culminating project. I completed all of the Day 1 activities.

I helped set up the Scholastic Book Fair in the Media Center. I set up the cases, unloaded books from the boxes, organized the groupings of books, taped up example posters to the windows, and completed other small tasks for the Media Specialist.

I met with the fifth grade teacher who I am doing the instructional partner unit. We decided on days and times that I could work with her and her class to teach the unit. We will begin on Monday and work through the next three weeks to complete the unit. I will be switching places with her on Monday for an hour so that I can teach her class the information literacy lesson section and get the unit going. I will also work in her class on Monday and Tuesday while my students are in their resource class. I will be doing the reading fluency pretests.

I also covered books with Kapco, shelved books, and worked with students helping them find books.

I worked at the circulation desk checking books in and out. I helped a teacher find books, and then covered books with Kapco. Then I met with the Instructional Technology Coordinator to go over how Camtasia works so that I would be able to use it to record my distance ed. version of my staff development unit.

I covered books with Kapco and straightened and tidied shelves. I also collaborated with a fifth grade teacher on how to help her students improve their test scores. We set up times for me to come into her classroom to coteach the instructional partner unit.
